The first feature from Melisa Önel premiered at the 64th Berlin Film Festival in the Forum section. The film follows Hamit, who commutes between scary neighbourhoods of Istanbul and a needy border town on the Black Sea coast, not too far from the big city. Working for Ali, a coal merchant-turned-human trafficker, Hamit trucks coal into the city and illegal immigrants out of it; his sole consolation being Denise – a botanist who is in Turkey for a research project. Hamit and Denise secretly meet at night in a cabin by the sea. The film observes their relation falling apart as a new group of immigrants arrive in the village and tension rises when it turns out that they are trapped.
